Two firms sign leases at downtown L.A.’s FourFortyFour tower – L.A. Biz

Two firms signed leases totaling more than 10,000 square feet at downtown Los Angeles’s FourFortyFour tower.

Coretrust Capital Partners, which owns the building at 444 South Flower Street, said commercial interiors firm Westfall Commercial Furniture signed a six-year lease for 6,670 square feet on the 43rd floor, expanding its space by 2,200 square feet, and flooring provider Shaw Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, has exchanged its previous sublease for a direct lease of 4,700 square feet on the third floor. The building is located at the corner of 5th and Flower Streets, across from the Central Library and next to the Bunker Hill Steps.

“Westfall and Shaw are two of the fine interiors, architecture, engineering and commercial services firms that now occupy about 100,000 square feet at FourFortyFour, transforming the tower into a downtown design hub,” said Thomas Ricci, managing principal and a co-founder of Coretrust, in a statement.

Amenities in the building include a 12,000-square-foot gallery conference and event center, and other retail tenants include Equinox, Starbucks, Mendocino Farms, OmNom Organics, a Citi bank branch, Uptown Drugs, Trims and Trends Hair Salon, as well as electric vehicle-charging stations and a car wash.

In August, L.A. Biz reported that PeopleSpace extended its lease at the building and now occupies a full floor, and will stay there until 2031. PeopleSpace is an Irvine-based business that provides workspace strategy, office furnishings and custom architectural products.
